TXST Grocery Stores Shuttle offers a shuttle to grocery stores in Austin every weekend, on Saturdays only. This service is open to all TXST students and visiting J-1 scholars. At this point, we are not able to accommodate family members, friends, TXST faculty nor staff members.
There will be no service during university closures or otherwise notified.

Please note that you will only be able to visit 2 stores from the schedule provided above. You will get 1 hour in each store.
Important Notes
- Each participant must reserve their seat prior to boarding the shuttle. The bus's capacity is 40 passengers. If the shuttle is full for the selected day, try for a future day.
- You cannot make multiple reservations at one time. Once your reservation is made, you cannot make another reservation for ten days. This is to allow as many students as possible to have access to this service.
- The University is not responsible for damages or transportation costs if the participant missed the return bus.
- Participants are encouraged to make a grocery shopping list before arriving at the store to expedite the shopping process to board the return bus on time.
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable grocery bags. Grocery stores in Austin will not bag your groceries in plastic bags.

Grocery Shuttle Schedule
NOTE: Stores and routes are subject to change. Every Saturday is a new shuttle line with different grocery store visits. You may locate the shuttle lines and their destinations, above.
Every Saturday, the grocery shuttle visits a different group of stores. Check the Saturday's shuttle line above to see which stores are included.
1. 🚌 Board the shuttle at Texas State
Board the shuttle at the LBJ Student Center Loop at 11:30 a.m.
2. 🛍️ Choose the grocery store you want to visit
The shuttle will stop at several grocery stores in Austin. You may get off at the store you want to visit and shop.
3. ⏰ Keep track of the pickup time
The shuttle will return to each store to pick up students. Be back at the designated pickup location on time. The shuttle cannot wait for late passengers.
4. 🚌 Return to Texas State
The shuttle will leave Austin at the scheduled time and return to Texas State University at approximately 4:30 p.m.
Before You Ride
- Check the Saturday shuttle line to see which grocery stores the shuttle will visit.
- Arrive at LBJ Student Center Loop before 11:30 a.m.
- Take note of your pickup location and time.
- Be back at the shuttle on time after shopping.
- Bring your student ID and anything you need for your groceries.
More Shuttle Route Details
Route 1: You will be dropped off at your chosen first store.
Route 2: Afterward, you’ll be picked up from your first store and transported to your selected second store.
Once your hour at the second store concludes, you will board the shuttle for your return trip to San Marcos.
Shuttle Policy
- Students who sign up for the Grocery Shuttle Service must sign in when they board the shuttle and sign out when they leave the shuttle.
- If a student does not return to San Marcos with the Austin shuttle, they will be identified on subsequent trips and will no longer be permitted to use the shuttle service.
