Mandatory I-Student Orientation (I-SO)
I-Student Orientation (ISO) provides essential support for new incoming international students, offering timely and relevant information on immigration and academics to facilitate new incoming students' transition into the TXST campus community. Various campus departments will participate by offering sessions with valuable information. Light refreshments will be served. If you do not attend this mandatory in-person orientation, you will have academic holds put on your account for the next academic semester.
Spring 2026 I-Student Orientation at San Marcos, TX (main campus)
Fall 2025 I-Student Orientation for Round Rock Campus students
Date: Friday, January 16, 2026
Place: Virtual Session
You will be provided a Zoom link the week prior if you are registered as a Round Rock student.
Time: 3 p.m.
Move-In Dates for Housing
The Housing Department will assign you a move-in date of either January 14th or 15th. You will receive your specific move-in date and time directly from housing@txstate.edu.
You must move-in prior to the orientation start time as if you do not attend orientation, you will have a hold on your account for the following semester.
Pre-Arrival Sessions
Sessions will be hosted by the International Student Services Team. They will include information specifically for you as an international student about course registration, housing, transportation, and how to prepare to enter the U.S. among other important information. Family members are welcome.
