The purpose of the Texas Public Education Grant emergency funding is to assist Texas State University international non-resident students who demonstrate significant financial need. Emergency funding is insufficient to meet all educational expenses and is only intended to be supplemental funds. Approval is not guaranteed and may not result in the increase of aid.
Awardees will be granted a one-time award of up to $2,000.00 ($1,000 Fall and $1,000 Spring) per semester for a maximum of two semesters.
The funding is for tuition and fee purposes only.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Students must have been enrolled for one academic year (any combination of long academic sessions such as fall/spring) at TXST per educational level.
- Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate international student.
- Transient, non-degree, exchange, and other short-term visas that students have and are enrolled at Texas State are ineligible.
- Students must be in good academic standing and not be on probation or suspension.
- Graduate students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and undergraduate students must have a 2.8 GPA or higher.
- Students must be enrolled and attending with full time status at the time of award or have an approved Reduced Courseload (RCL). Concurrently enrolled hours do not count toward the academic hours needed to qualify for the grant.
- Students must be making satisfactory academic progress at the time of application.
- Students must demonstrate financial need.
