The Texas Folklife Festival is an immersive cultural experience, surrounding visitors with some 250 participating organization representing more than 40 cultural groups; 6 stages of music and entertainment; a menu of some 100 authentic food items; and the skills of some 60 artisans.
It’s an opportunity to try various barbecue, listen to a bluegrass band, learn to hula with Hawaiian dancers, pick up an ax and split shingles with the pioneers, and experience for yourself just what it means to be a Texan. This event is FREE to attend and is open to the first 50 F-1 or J-1 students who register. Lunch is NOT provided so please bring some money.
